Back at It

I had a great couple weeks without having to go to the doctor frequently, other than a couple of checkup appointments. I've been taking the time to scrapbook Cade's senior album. Christian got a baby book with fancy (and time-consuming) pages. Cade had colic and wouldn't stop howling long enough for me to even pee, so he got simple. Now I'm making up for that with some super cute designs! ❤️
I was sick two weeks ago today and canceled my appointment with the oncologist so they rescheduled me with the nurse practitioner. They called me back last Thursday, the day before the appointment, and said that the oncologist needed to see me himself so they rescheduled me for today. I'm super anxious about why the oncologist needs to see me when he's been fine with me seeing the nurse practitioner in the past. Hopefully it's just for my comic relief value and not something else that has popped up in the meantime. 🙄 I'll be headed to the hospital shortly to get poked and prodded and hopefully they access my port without too many sticks. The surgery holds the current record at six sticks and two in the arm. My immunotherapy is still every three weeks and that starts back up today as well.
I met with the radiation oncologist on Tuesday and really like him. He spent a full hour with me verifying my history and explaining everything radiation. He was very thorough and did his homework on me so I was pretty impressed. I got yet another list of things not to do and side effects for what I'm about to do. I came back yesterday for a simulation session where they did a couple CT scans and made some marks on me to ensure they target the exact same spot every time. I will come back next Wednesday or Thursday to assume the position for 20 rounds. As a bonus, they're giving me a "key" to the hospital. Well, some people call it a badge, but whatever 🤣 They have a system in place where you badge in to notify them you've arrived, go to the dressing room to change into a gown, and they come get you when a machine is available. They say it's pretty much in and out so hoping for an hour with drive time.
TODAY'S SILVER LINING: It's a beautiful day and Rocki and I are headed north on a day trip to a couple small towns with a fabric store, an Old Settlers festival, and some good eats. ❤️
