Chemo Complete!

My final chemo treatment was yesterday! Grandma took me and Mom met us there to see me ring the bell on my way out. ð Afterwards, we went to lunch at Olive Garden to celebrate with soup, salad and bread sticks, oh my! Grandma told our waitress and she left us a dessert menu to choose something from which was super thoughtful. Can I just saw that we shared a black tie mousse cake that was amazing?! Then the manager came out and congratulated me and the nearby tables overheard and started clapping. It was a pretty cool scene in there if I say so myself. ð
I saw the breast surgeon last Monday and scheduled for July 12th, which is about three and a half weeks. Then I'll have a couple more weeks to heal from that before radiation starts. Now that the chemo is over, I should start getting some energy back hopefully and she said exercise will help me heal faster. In light of that, Mom and I started water aerobics this past Thursday and Rocki and Jaleasa are going to join us on Tuesdays.
In the meantime, I'm going to work on walking more, as my feet allow. My oncologist said it'll take a few weeks for everything to really leech out of my body so we can see what the permanent neuropathy is going to be. Fingers crossed that it'll get better and the residual will be minimal.
We drove down to see Rhys' dad today and then to Mooresville to visit Charlie for Father's Day. When we got back to Greenwood, we went to Sam's Club and Kroger to get our grocery shopping done so I'm spent for today and going to bed shortly. Talk about a fun Saturday night, but I'm definitely a cheap date these days ðĪŠ
Happy Father's Day to all the dads!
TODAY'S SILVER LINING: I made it through the last couple months without my nails, but chemo is over baby! My appointment scheduled for Tuesday and I can't be more excited! ððð
