Counting Our Blessings

As I move further into this journey and get frustrated with my lack of energy and increased need for sleep, I remember all the things I am thankful for. I'm so thankful for my family and friends who have wrapped me in so much love and comfort. I've always known we have a village, but we've been fortunate enough to be on the other side in the past.
I went to to the onco-cardiologist last week and he increased the dosage on my medication. While my blood pressure is coming down, my resting heart rate is still stupid high (105+). He said the increased dosage will make me more tired, surprise surprise, but we'll see if it stops the heart palpitations.
I'm also thankful that Friday chemo went well. The nurses are getting better at accessing my port now. I always have a different nurse so I just let them know what works and get into the best position we've found so far. It was a two nurse situation, but just one try so try another blessing. I don't like being a pin cushion very much!
Yesterday, we went downtown to the canal and had family photos taken. I was able to walk around long enough to get some really cool shots in different areas and we haven't had family photos done for years. Only downside was that we couldn't coordinate Bre and Corey here this time around. We even got walking tacos and ice cream on our way out.
Today, I woke up really tired, but rested and found my energy window to make a homemade chocolate cheesecake for Christian's birthday π and then we went to Cheesecake Factory for dinner. Yes, I know, that seems a little crazy, but he wanted homemade so that's what we did. π We just broke it out and tried a piece (I was worried since it was a new recipe) and he loved it. β£οΈ
I'm sleeping about 10-11 hours at night and then I have a few good hours with some energy before I need to nap again. I'm starting to find my groove so that I can be more productive. Of course, I've made a list of things I'd like to get done while I'm at home and I've even put a dent in it already. All the things that go on the back burner might actually get addressed this summer!
I have so many things to be thankful for in the midst of the crazy including the fact that I'm down to five more chemo treatments! My entertainers are troopers, taking me to early appointments and keeping me distracted. Grandma's up again this week and we've got some Skip-Bo to play. π
TODAY'S SILVER LINING: I get to go on a road trip on Β with Cheri and Brooke! I haven't seen these ladies in a bit and it's going to be so much fun!
