I Have PMS

I Have PMS

No seriously. It's been officially documented. I bet my open rate just shot through the roof with that title. 🤣🤣🤣 My genetic results came back and they tested 52 additional genes. Fantastic news! I just have one gene that came back with an inconclusive mutation: PMS2. Some of you are thinking, well that explains a lot. 🤣 Very funny, laugh it up. I know I did! This gene is connected to an increased chance to develop colorectal, endometrial/uterine, stomach, ovarian, and small bowel cancer. In other words, another dead end.

On another note, I rang the bell again! I continue to bake, but I'm headed in the right direction. Dr. Eaton says I'll have radiation in my body for four weeks so I'm figuring it'll get worse before it gets better. I'm still slathering on the lotion and using the other supplies my nurse gave me in addition to some Tylenol.

My hair is starting to get some length and my Grandpa says I look good with short hair and it's very chic. ❤️ I'm probably keeping it short in a pixie that I liked when we cut it off in January. Just waiting on it to grow so I can shape it. I have an echo on Tuesday and then I have labs, see my regular oncologist, and get immunotherapy on Friday. Depending on my bloodwork, I may start the Xeloda. Then on Monday the 26th, I go back to the office full-time. I'm straightening out as much as I can while I'm remote so hopefully it'll be calmer when I return.

Cade has been running cross country this season and just broke his personal record (PR) at yesterday's meet. He runs about four miles each day after school and is looking forward to track season. He'll have conditioning this winter after cross country ends and he's already scaling the stairs to increase his leg spread for hurdles. You heard me correctly: he wants to do hurdles! I would have never guessed that was the area he'd choose, but he's tall with long legs so I think he'll do well.

Christian just went to his first protest a few days ago. He needs to earn 600 points for one of his political science classes and attending the protest and writing a reflection of the experience was worth 150 points. He said the majority of people were in groups so he stayed mostly to himself. One of the organizers recognized him and came over to say hi. Christian wasn't sure who he was at first, but the organizer said, "aren't you the guy that destroyed me in that debate last year?" and Christian remembered the international policy debate, but not really the guy. As I said, Christian is in his element in college. 🙂

TODAY'S SILVER LINING: I hung out with Mom today and we made all kinds of pretty cards with my Stampin' Up rep. She made a yummy quiche (which I love, but my family doesn't) and this amazing pumpkin cake. I walked away with 20 fantastic cards and a recipe. 😁
