Resting

Resting

Just wanted to get out a quick note for anyone wondering how Vanessa is holding up since the last post. She has been very exhausted and not feeling much like herself since the day after the first therapy session on Friday. She is sleeping in bed most nights, with the help of some strategically placed pillows. One that Sherry Schneider donated has been most helpful. Throughout the day she is resting on the couch, waking only briefly enough to wonder what the hell Netflix show has started playing...then drifting back asleep before figuring it out. I have been encouraging her to rest and for once in our marriage she is actually doing what I tell her without hesitation! Even if it isn't of her own volition, I can still enjoy it! She hasn't even had the energy to yell at me for leaving my socks on the floor so she MUST truly be exhausted ;)

Staci Stuckey brought us some delicious turkey sausage chili on Monday, and V ate more of that then she has been eating of things. She has been trying to eat consistently, but for the most part it's only a couple of bites per meal. I have been force feeding her fruit and applesauce at every turn in between and she has been able to eat most of it....even if she is only doing it to humor me.

Heidi Varns came by today with a surprise grocery run with lots of good eats that are easy on the stomach and a very pretty bouquet of flowers. Autumn ran by a couple boxes of peppermint tea to help settle V's stomach.

Exhaustion and upset stomach have been the main side effects, so far. Though I will say she has stayed awake longer today then any day before. The doctor called in a different prescription for nausea today so we are hoping this will work better then the one she has been taking. She hasn't been able to go into work at all this week since she has been too tired to stay awake for very long.

We continue to be humbled by the love and support from all of you, Our Family and Friends! We are very fortunate to have such incredible people in our lives and we can't thank each and everyone of you enough! I am sure V will have more to say on here once she is feeling a bit better, but I wanted to make sure that everyone knew that she is still fighting. Please keep her in your thoughts!
