Second Verse, Same as the First
This morning started my second cycle of this chemo. I'm making sure to slather my hands and feet day and night and I haven't had anything crazy happen. I celebrated by enjoying my old lady protein shake and rocking out to some Coolio this morning. Don't judge me; everyone needs a little Gangsta's Paradise every now and then. 🤣 Work is going well and I'm back in the full-time groove. I usually try to rest when I get home before I cook dinner or, in last night's case, Rhys just ignores what's on my menu and cooks something he can make when he sees me snoozing. ❣️ I'll be making jambalaya on Sunday I guess LOL
I've been meaning to post something, but as usual, I've been booking myself too much. My mind hasn't quite caught up with the fact that my body moves a little bit more slowly and needs more rest these days. 🙄 On the bright side, I'm having fun before I crash! LOL 😁
We spent a few days out at Raccoon Lake a couple weeks ago on a girl's trip. One of our friend's uncle owns a cabin out there that sleeps more than 20 people so it's more than comfortable for our group. It has absolutely beautiful views and we love having coffee and watching the sun rise, especially in the fall with all the gorgeous colors.
Rocki orchestrated our very own purse bingo and we played the first night. The beauty of her bingo was that everybody won. 😁 Whenever you got your first bingo, you drew a pumpkin with a number on the bottom out of a bag. If you got bingo a second time, then you got your name on a door price ticket. At the end of the game, she gave us each a bag that corresponded with the number on the pumpkin and then drew for the door prize. I won the door prize and it was so cute! Love the little honeycomb soap especially. 🙂 She had cool prizes for everyone in the bags, but the best prize was a COACH PURSE! And I won! 😁
Autumn won a Michael Kors wallet which she promptly changed over to since hers was broken and she was going to be on the hunt the next day when we went to the covered bridge festival. Even without the big prizes, the bingo was a blast! We've decided that we need a game for our retreats now and Rocki and I already have the next one planned. 🙂
Billy, Jaleasa, and Jordan hosted a fantastic Halloween party last weekend. Almost everybody dressed up and the kids especially looked great. Olivia was the cutest little puppet and won kid's best costume category.
I wanted to go as Jake and Flo this year, but Rhys said it was played out. So I dug out an old costume that he wore before (Dredd Pirate Roberts) and I wore a shirt that I'd gotten from Mom a while back that paired with boots and a skull head wrap, turned me into his wench. Apparently the costume has a Zoro feel because he took adult the adult best costume category 🤣🤣🤣 They had a haunted trail set up where we got to meet Beetlejuice, two of the Sanderson sisters, and that creepy little Annabelle was even there. The chair was rocking when we got there and then stopped so we got the hell out of dodge! We had Marcus and some spider monkeys to complete the trail and then we hopped back on our hayride to head back to the fort.
Rhys has been keeping busy being a good dog dad the last month or so. He's using verbal and hand commands and taught Niko sit, speak, wait, and leave it. He's super smart and picks up stuff pretty quickly. It's why I married him. Just kidding! I meant Niko! 🤣 Cade just got a job at Kroger as a bagger and then he offered to work additional hours and got promoted to a cashier. He's still planning on running track and they are going to work around that when the time comes. Christian's been busy putting together an Indiana Senate internship application which was pretty involved. His interview was at 2pm today so hopefully he's crushing it. There's probably going to be some stuff competition so fingers crossed that's he's selected. Bre and Corey will be coming to town in a couple weeks, right after Thanksgiving so we're excited to see them and hang out a bit.
